What was against Queen Esther?
On 25 January 2009, Egyptian Cleric Safwat Higazi said that "the siren of Starbucks" logo is actually a representation of the ancient Jewish queen Esther. He called on Muslims to boycott all Starbucks stores in the Arab world as result. If she is often depicted as strong and patriotic women who saved her people from genocide, why do some people hate?
Esther was Jewish queen of the Persian Empire in the Hebrew Bible, the queen of Ahasuerus (traditionally identified with Xerxes I), and heroine of the biblical book of Esther, which bears his name. Esther's name comes from the Persian word "star". as a result of Esther's intervention and influence, Mizrahi Jews lived in the Persian Empire for 2400 years. Esther's husband Ahasuerus followed in the footsteps of Cyrus the Great, to show mercy to the Jews of Persia: Cyrus had decreed an end to the Babylonian captivity of the Jews in their conquest of Babylon in 539 BC C.
