The cholesterol level of 229 and the glucose level of 105?
I'm 40 years old, 170 pounds and just had a fasting blood test done. I was diagnosed with a cholesterol level of 229 (triglycerides 99, HDL 55, LDL 154), I do not exercise, but quickly began walking on a treadmill 30-60 minutes a day. At what level should be at, and enough exercise to lower it without changing my diet? my glucose level is 105, not eating sweets, but not eat ice cream once every two weeks or less. I also took a White Mocha from Starbucks and two cups of coffee at work with white sugar almost every day. I am a social drinker, especially beer and liquor rarely lasts. Is 105 something to worry about? The exercise is enough to lower glucose.
Whaattt??? Its sugar is not normal, is a bit high. Fasting sugar should be less than 100. You can not diagnose diabetes when fasting sugars are so high, however. I suggest either getting a test tube and after meals, or ask your doc for more tests (test A1c or glucose tolerance). Cholesterol is not bad.
