Electric Coffee Warmers

Potpourri / aroma simmering liquid – does anyone know if you can use a coffee / tea mug warming plate?

Instead of having to light a candle under a container of liquid potpourri, I prefer an electric hot. Although I know that make electric heaters to that end, I see where I can buy a plate of warm drinks for about $ 6. If this would work, is less expensive than any other electric potpourri pot on slow I found. If you or someone you know has tried a heating plate of drinks for the medley, I wonder how successful it was. Thank you.
