How long should I brew tea bags for (leave in a cup of hot water)?

I was told the longer you leave the less the caffeine!!!! Is this true?

not true. it depends on what kind of tea it is. In general, black tea can steep for 4-5 minutes in boiling water. Green tea bags can steep for 2-3 minutes in HOT water, not boiling. White tea can steep for 1-2 minutes in hot water. oolong can steep in 3-4 minutes in hot water.
